1st SPEED KING Warhammer 40k Tourney

Friday February 24th 2012

9:00am

 

Park n' Shop Jumeirah

Al Wasl Road, Dubai

 

750pts competitive army

 

Entry Fee: 100aed

registration starts at February 11th upto 21st

pre-register and avail the early bird discount (20%) 80aed entry fee on February 1st - 10th

late registrations will be at the door - 120aed (another reason why you must pre-register)

 

Requirements:

  • full name
  • club affiliation (if any)
  • 2 sets of army list; one for the Marshall and the other one for in-game reference

 

***WYSIWYG is in effect

***Proxies (or counts as models) is allowed as long as the model justifies the "original" being proxied; eg. a Legion of the Damned can be proxied as Sternguards or a Grey Knights unit can be proxied as Honour Guards as long as there are no other similar unit that would cause confusion later on..... and NO! a chunk of brick cant be proxied as a battlewagon!

player packets will be given before the tourney proper.

SPEED KING - tourney winner

NICE GUY (finish last) - player with the "least" tourney points

Special Raffle Draw during game break

 

*DISCLAIMER*

those who will be paying the pre-registration and regular fee will only be the ones automatically included on the Raffle Draws; while late comers wont be entitled of that priviledge.

prize support will be generated thru the entry fee. so cheaper fee gets you a cheapo prize..... fair fee = well, near awesome stuff!

and not a box of  5 Guardsmen while ur playing Dark Eldar ^_^x

will post more after 12hrs

its seems that im the only one experienceing this.... Warmahordes guys uploads their images at ease

its funny that i can't edit the original post anymore i tried to strike through some details but it ain't happening unlike before ^_^x

anyways despite the negotiation efforts.... and even the SPEED KING tourney was already agreed to be a FREE ENTRY event, it is still cancelled due to "some legality issues" after all the legal terms had been fulfilled and stuff.

to those souls who already pre-registered and showed interest, we/the organizers would like to apologize for the sudden disappointment. but rest assured the SPEED KING Tourney will push thru after all the paperworks on approvals had been done. for details and clarification on the matter, you can send me a mail thru wargazelle@gmail.com and full details will be provided upon request.

standby for further announcement/s.... Target date would be the 1st two weeks of April (to honor the return of swarmlord's Hive Fleet)

Don't worry Omar, here's a message to all those who still plan on joining the Speed king Tourney. (This was posted in FB if you guys miss it here it is) 
 
 

 

Wargazelle Abu Dhabi

 

since the supposed 24th of February SpeedKing tournament (to commemorate the 25th bday or warhammer40k) was postponed, the planned schedules of Strings of warhammer40k mini-tourneys had been in conflict with other "events" in the region.... but rest assured it will push thru. 

after some discussions with my peers, the pre-launching our sponsored SpeedKing Invitationals in Abu Dhabi on the 06 APRIL 2K12 is all in order..... please note that it will be a "pre-launching" in order to give way to the much awaited MEF Comic Con (constant mini-tourneys will be on the way). we've also decided to restart the Ranking system "all over again" to give a fair chance to those who play for both fun and healthy competition.... and to encourage players to step up on their hobby and not juz stay NOOB forever (whether it maybe gaming, painting, etc.)

fun and competitive players are very much welcomed (sour losers will be banned for life). we will be posting the details shortly. cheers and have a good one!

i really appreciate the effort organizers put in order to get the tournament running, but can th point limits be higher?
playing dark angels is a bit rough on the points (espicially feilding Death Wing)

as the tourney title says SPEED KING.... it aims to have more games played as much as possible with less the time consumed. however there'd be another themed-tourney with higher points (we know 750 is broken on some armies but we'd like to give chance on those gamers with less units on their collection and to those who are just starting the hobby - there's this kid Ellis on the last 1250 pts tournament organized by Noxy with roughly 600pts worth of orks, of course he got pwned game he played but nevertheless tried to enjoyed his games and won the Sportsmanship Award. we wanted to even up the playing field for "these" kind of situation.
So in the meantime there's the SPEEDKING Tournament ^_^x
750pts competitive army (+2 copies of army list)
NO Registration fees juz pure gaming fun
6th April 2012 (9am call time)
Mohammad bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi (Mazyad Mall - assembly point)
DXB-AUH-DXB transport is arranged
