DRTT Killzone Event

There's been a load of questions regarding the Killzone event happening on Day 2 of the Red Tent, and it's good news since a lot of people are interested in the format!

As posted earlier we are using the same rules that have been used by Adepticon's Killzone event. Why using these rules and not the regular Kill Team rules? Because it's more interesting, balanced and we don't have the right to publish the Kill Team scenario rules (it's against GW's IP).

Here is where you can check out the complete rules of the game:
Killzone Gaming Rules
Killzone Codex Erratas

Now you will receive part of these rules in your player package BUT not all of it will be there so you better check it out beforehand!

The event will be played at 250 pts and it will be played out on terrain-saturated tables (there will be almost no open ground).

Please use this thread to ask any question you might see fit!
Here are a few that have been asked before:

Q: Can I play 251 points although the event says 250 points?
A: No, you have to play 250 points or lower.

Q: Can I have armored vehicles or T6 models?
A: No, with few exceptions (one Walker with total AV <=33)

Deone let me help you here. I am going to walk you through this one step at a time.

  1. open your Codex to the entries of you units that shows all options and point costs
  2. chose a unit, let say Ratlings
  3. take the Ratling cost 30 points and divide it by the minimum amount of models that that cost covers, 3 in this senario and you come up with 10 points. This is the cost of 1 Ratling Sniper
  4. Now turn to Orgryn which is a 3 wound model and means you can only have one. do exactly like you did with Ratlings and this is the cost of one Ogryn, 45 points.
  5. Now you warband has 1 Ratling (10 points), 1 Ogryn (45 points) and you have 195 points left.
  6. Go through codex and find all the cool units and take a couple guys from each and then kit then out with all the wargear you want.
  7. This will all require some math, dividing and adding. You big trick will be in units like command platoons where the Commander has higher point total that rest of platoon that you need to work out.
  8. YOU ARE CHOSING MODELS NOT UNITS
  9. your force should look something like this:

1 Platoon Commander with Plasma Pistol and CCW

1 Ratling Sniper

1 Ogryn

2 Veteran Guard with Flamers

1 Veteran Sergent with Combi/Melta

1 Sentinal with Hunter Killer Missle, Heavy Flamer

1 Techpriest Enginseer with Power Weapon

8 Models Total

How would a Thunderhammer work? :)

only the model struck gets down to Init 1? or does it have an area effect on all enemy models within 4" of the model struck?

Thanks

I meant 6" of the model struck.

Yes, thunder hammers would have an area effect of 6" off the model struck.

Yes, you may select Wargear/Skills/Special Issue Upgrades as decribed in the KillZone rules document.

Games will also use a set of Secondary Objectives and Fate that you will receive along your player package.

We will have a KillZone Intro Session on Friday right after lunch to make sure everyone is aware of the rules and how KillZone plays out.
