DRT - 40k Apocalypse FAQ

Here it is ladies and gents, all your questions regarding the Dubai Red Tent's Apocalypse will be answered in this thread and compiled in the top post (this one).

Fire Away!

Q: Can I join the forces of Evil with a Good army (and vice-versa)?
A: No, you have to join the team your army is aligned with.

Q: Is this for Warhammer 40k?
A: Yes it is.

Q: How many points can I play minimum/maximum ?
A: You may play minimum 1000 pts/maximum 5000 pts. Since the turns are timed we would recommend a "slimmer force" unless you are playing points-heavy units such as Apocalypse units.

Q. Can I play a same side mixed force, i.e.Good/Good Space Marines/Imperial Guard or Blood Angels/Ultramarines as long as I have all my rules? I would love to use my 60 Terminators, 2 Baneblades, and 10 Battle Tanks.
A: Yes you can BUT you have to be able to keep the pace of the game steady. If you are unable to complete your turns it won't be fun for you and your opponent so keep the special rules/model count to a manageable size. Please refer to the Apocalypse Allies Matrix for your armies selection.

Q. Are you allowed to break any normal non unique character army restrictions like 4 squads of 10 Death Company without the special character you codex normally requires, or just 10 homunculi?
A: Yes there is no Force Org. You still need to follow your army restrictions. A lot of these restrictions are removed through the use of Apoc Formations - check them out!

Q. Will there be any house rules I should know in advance beyond timed turns ( not really a house rule per se) but you know what I mean.
A: Timed turns and super-heavies don't get covers unless they generate their own.

Q. Will the Generals use Sub commanders like that "crazy guy" who used to run at park n shop?I noticed this helped keep the flow of the game, but he was crazy :)
A: There's one General in charge of his side - it will be completemented by 2 sub-commanders or more depending on the number of players participating.

Q. What happens in the event that a player brings a Titan/Stompa/super heavy and the other side doesn't have one? Will a "ringer super heavy" be used to offset and fill in the blank? Additional stratagem may not offset such a monster.
A: We already have several super-heavies on each side confirmed. In the event there's a clear imbalance we will have to *chaosify* some baneblades :)

Q. Obviously I would never think of taking a bane blade for my Chaos or Ork force...but it is fairly common allowance elsewhere and could give some cool conversion chances...mmmm looted Baneblade or looted Warhound Titan...
A: Yes it is allowed as long as it is correctly modelled as such and you are using official rules for it.

Q. Are Apoc formations allowed and if so I heard GW has them on their site, can we get a link to these for easy reference?
A: Yes, here they are.

Q. Any restrictions to Forgeworld products or rules? Shall I just use the new Forgeworld Apoc I&Ii books to make it simple?
A: No restriction BUT PLEASE PRINT 2-3 copies of the unit's rules!!!

Q. What size table will be used, or will it be on a floor.
A: We currently have 24 ft by 4 ft, extensible to 48 ft by 4 ft.

Q. I'm old, can I bring a token minion to help me move my stuff around?

A: Yes, as long as he dresses up as such.

Q. What would your policy on proxies be for this? could i proxy a stompa as a warhound titan or something?

A: Proxies are NOT allowed. No exeptions will be made.

Q. Kind of a suggestion but maybe have 2 sub generals on each side so that the 1 general does not have to run around from one side of the table to the other to make sure that every one was done shooting or something?
A: Agreed, we'll have 2 sub-generals or more on each side.

Q. Do we need to bring armylists and if so how many?
A: Please bring at least 4 copies of your army list.

Q. Will we be able to register for this without entering the 40k tournament?
A: Yes, there's a fee of 25 AED for people who wish to do so. It is free if you have a tournament pass.

Q. Is there a max number of players for each side or is it just as many as we can fit on the table?
A: No maximum and we'll add tables if need be.

Even though I am not in country in body I am still there in spirit, and I do still have an open ticket so....
Here are my questions and an attempt at a preemptive strike on your behalf:

1. Can I play a same side mixed force, i.e.Good/Good Space Marines/Imperial Guard or Blood Angels/Ultramarines as long as I have all my rules? I would love to use my 60 Terminators, 2 Baneblades, and 10 Battle Tanks. .
2. True Apoc doesn't use a Force Org chart, will this still be the case so if I want to bring 15 Terminators, 3 Vindicators, and 3 Land Raiders it would be ok? Are you allowed to break any normal non unique character army restrictions like 4 squads of 10 Death Company without the special character you codex normally requires, or just 10 homunculi?
3. Will there be any house rules I should know in advance beyond timed turns ( not really a house rule per se) but you know what I mean.
4. Will the Generals use Sub commanders like that "crazy guy" who used to run at park n shop?I noticed this helped keep the flow of the game, but he was crazy :)
5. What happens in the event that a player brings a Titan/Stompa/super heavy and the other side doesn't have one? Will a "ringer super heavy" be used to offset and fill in the blank? Additional stratagem may not offset such a monster.
6. Obviously I would never think of taking a bane blade for my Chaos or Ork force...but it is fairly common allowance elsewhere and could give some cool conversion chances...mmmm looted Baneblade or looted Warhound Titan...
7. Are Apoc formations allowed and if so I heard GW has them on their site, can we get a link to these for easy reference?
8. Any restrictions to Forgeworld products or rules? Shall I just use the new Forgeworld Apoc I&Ii books to make it simple?
9. What size table will be used, or will it be on a floor.
And finally..
10. I'm old, can I bring a token minion to help me move my stuff around
