DRT Has Come and Gone

DRT IV has come and gone, but hopefully fond memories of it will remain for all those who took part. Taking place over the 28th and 29th of October, Festival City played host to the largest Dubai Red Tent event yet! With a UAE record breaking turnout for miniature wargaming, the cummunity came together, fought one another and had a proper good time doing so!

Firstly, let me just say thank you. Thank you to all those who participated in the event and the UAE wargaming community in general, without your presence and consistant love of the hobby, events like this would never come to fruition. To the staff, a round of applause is in order, dutifully volunteering their weekends to help keep the event running smoothly. To Living Rooms Cafe for putting on a brave face and letting us use their space, as well as Festival City for providing some much needed tables.

There was an abundance of activities, from painting, to trading, to just plain old gaming (like the rhyme?). Loads of you turned up to participate, as well as plenty of passers by and newcomers, keen to get into the hobby and discover what it was.

There were multiple winners throughout the day, but I believe everybody who took part felt like a winner at some point during the event! Tons of prizes were given away at random through raffles and those who rose victorious from the competitions saw even greater spoils of war. So a big congratulations to all those who have been bestowed with coveted titles from the weekend.

uh dude here's an erratum on your report.... Overall 40k tourney winner was Ahmed Buhannad with his Dark Eldar army while Amir "Minion" Hassan won the Best General.... unless you decided to give me the best generalissimo award for leading the space marines forces to victory during the apocalypse game on day 2 against the combined might of evil forces and renegade marines and guardsmen XD
